July 2008 .............

Lincoln: It's the capitol city of Nebraska, and was founded in 1856. At that time it was called the village of Lancaster. It's the second largest city, and one of only a few large cities in Nebraska not located on the Platt or Missouri Rivers. Lincoln is best known for it's football team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers. We stopped in Lincoln to visit friends Gary and Diane Wyndt, friends from Palm Creek (where we stay when we are in AZ for the winter). They took us on a driving tour of the city and we stopped and went through the Capitol. The Capitol is a great building with interesting history. We were able to go to the top of the building and had a great view of the city and surrounding countryside.
